Personalised care for your pooch
This service includes our base level house sitting service – we will live in your home throughout the day and overnight for the duration of your time away. For more information about what to expect when we house sit, take a look at our housesitting service page.
For dog care, we take on all our usual house sitting responsibilities while keeping your dogs happy too! We aim to fit seamlessly into your routine and will wake as early as you do to tend to the dogs’ needs, even having dogs sleep in our bed with us if required. We love to give dogs lots of love and attention, including lots of cuddles and play time!
Walking + Playtime
We will walk and play as much as your dog needs!
We fit our days around your dog’s routine or habits, including exercising them as much as they need. We are comfortable walking dogs on or off lead – though we ensure the dog is responding to us in the first days on the sit before we let them off lead – so you know your dog is being kept safe while out on walkies. We let you tell us where to exercise your dogs, for example if they have a favourite walk, if they need multiple walks a day, or if they are happy to come in our car with us to enjoy walkies further afield. We always carry water bottles, a water bowl, poo bags, leads, treats (if provided), and phones with offline maps on our walks. We will never walk a dog for a length of time or in a location that owners are uncomfortable with, so we make sure we have all the information on a dog’s routine beforehand!
Feeding + Healthcare
Keeping your dogs happy and healthy
We will feed your dog their diet (all food provided by you) and any treats permitted as outlined by you. We are comfortable with cleaning dogs’ teeth and administering medication when required, provided we have all the information we need to do so. When required, we can brush and wash your dogs as much or as little as needed – especially after muddy walks!
We have had experiences with removing ticks from dogs on multiple occasions and are comfortable with doing so – we regularly carry out tick checks after walkies, especially in the summer months when tick numbers are high. We are proficient at removing ticks while ensuring your dog undergoes as little upset as possible.
Safety
Your dogs are in good hands
As we always pet sit as a couple, there will always be two pairs of hands and eyes looking out for your pooches and as such we are comfortable pet sitting any number of dogs. We have a multitude of experience caring for different dog breeds and ages – from Pomeranian puppies and teenage Terriers, to lazy Greyhounds and elderly Pointers – and are happy to continue any training or reinforcing commands while on the sit. We also have a range of experience caring for reactive and anxious dogs, and are comfortable with committing to these responsibilities provided that we are given this information upfront.
We will keep you updated on how your dogs are doing while you’re away, providing photos, video updates and messages as often as requested. We let you tell us how much contact you’d like during our stay, and are never offended if owners request regular updates – especially if you haven’t used pet sitters before.
